On Friday, October 28, local businesses and community organizations will participate in the 2nd annual PTO/CES Trunk or Treat for our CES students. The students may wear costumes to school on Friday, however, masks, weapons, inflatable costumes, or anything gruesome is not permitted. Students may wear minimal face paint. Bags will be provided for the students to collect their treats, so parents do not need to send these. This event was a huge success last year, with students proclaiming it "the best day ever."

CES Title I night "There's a Minion Reasons to Read" will be held this Thursday, October 27, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the CES Gymnasium. Students may wear their Halloween costumes for this event. Click the news heading for more information.

Each month, teachers will choose one student from their class to be the "Student of the Month." These children will have a special lunch together in the cafeteria where they will receive their certificates. Students may pack or get lunch from the cafeteria. Dessert will be provided. Monday, October 17 - Pajama Day
Tuesday, October 18 - 50th Day of School : Dress Up 50’s Style
Wednesday, October 19 - Wacky/Tacky Wednesday
Thursday, October 20 - Favorite Sports Team Day
Friday, October 21 - NO SCHOOL! CHS Homecoming!

The annual Chilhowie Community Apple Festival is back in full swing this year, beginning with the Beauty Pageant and Fun Run/Walk on September 17 and continuing through September 25 with events for all ages. Click this news heading to see events that our students might wish to participate in.

Please plan to attend this meeting and get involved with your child's school through our Parent-Teacher Organization. At the September meeting, the PTO will be planning activities for this school year, beginning with a Popcorn Sales fundraiser. The CES PTO plays a vital role for our school and our students, providing support to teachers and funding for extras such as playground equipment or special activities.

Back to School Open House - Come by to Meet your Teacher, Principals and visit the school on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for Grades 3-5 and Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00pm for Grades K-2.

We are excited to let you know that family members can now come to school and eat lunch with the students! After two years of students not having this opportunity, we are ready to reignite their excitement by inviting parents, guardians, and grandparents back into the cafeteria. We will begin on Monday, March 21, 2022. Please see the schedule below (click this news heading) that will begin a gradual transition back to everyday options.
