Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. You can click the link below to view the flyer or contact the elementary school of enrollment for additional information.

Smyth County Schools will dismiss 2 hours early on Wednesday, March 27 for Spring Break. Schools will be closed from Thursday, March 28 through Monday, April 1. Students return to school on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

CES Title I Family Night will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 6-8pm. The theme for this event is "Leap into Learning." Students and families can participate in winter-themed activities and enjoy a special snack.

On January 25, 2024, Smyth County Public Schools held their county spelling bee at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia. Students who won the spelling bee at their respective schools went on to participate in the county spelling bee.

The CES winners of the Kiwanis Creative Writing contest were recognized in a special assembly held on January 26, 2024. Students from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes were awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place along with honorable mentions from each grade. The overall 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place winners are pictured here.

CES held their school spelling bee on Friday, December 8, 2023. These winners from each of our 5th grade classroom competed: Cam D., Liam M., Blakely B., and Jocelyn S. Blakely B. is our School Champion and will go on to compete in the County Spelling Bee. Cam D. was the first runner-up. Congratulations to all these students! CES is very proud of you!
